The Philippi Public Library encourages children of all ages to take advantage of what the library has to offer - books, learning, computers, magazines, audio books, puzzles, DVD's, videos, fun, and games!
Children's Computers: The library has one AWE Early Learning Station Computer for 2 - 8 year old children and one AWE After-School Edge Computer for 6 -12 year old children. Both computers feature a variety of content that covers Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects and more. These computers are not connected to the internet
Dolly Parton Imagination Library: Parents may register their child (birth through age 5) to receive monthly a free book in the mail.
Dog Tales - Reading to Mountaineer Therapy Dogs - 2nd Saturdays, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Summer Reading Camps: The summer reading camps are held each summer for children ages 3 - 6, 7 - 8 and 9 - 12. The program incorporates reading with prizes, games, special activities and other incentives to encourage children to read or to be read to during the summer.
Preschool Story Hour: Preschool story hour is held every Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from September through May. The program includes stories, crafts, music and physical activities, and snacks on special days. The program is very informal and designed to encourage children and their parents to use the library.
National Teen Read Week: Teenagers are invited to the library for a week of fun activities centered around popular young adult books and Halloween.
Pajamarama Night @ the Library and Holiday Evening Story Hour: These are special story hours for children scheduled during evening hours during holidays throughout the year. Please call the library at 304-457-3495 for more information.
